On Jan 16, Whistler RCMP received a complaint of a theft of skis at the Roundhouse. The 23yr old Whistler resident who stole the skis was identified and arrested for theft. He was released to appear in court at a later date.
On Jan 18 at 3pm, Whistler RCMP received a report of a disturbance in a liquor establishment near Skiers Plaza. A male was causing problems and assaulted a staff member when asked to leave. Police attended and arrested the male. He was later released, when he was able to care for himself.
On Jan 18 at 5pm, Pemberton RCMP received a report of overdue travellers, who were travelling from Pemberton to Deroche and were scheduled to arrive the night before. Police conducted searches for the missing travellers in conjunction with search and rescue. On Jan 20th, the missing travellers contacted family and advised they had been suffering from vehicle trouble.
On Jan 19, Pemberton RCMP received a call for assistance from a worker at a mining camp on the Inshuck. The male had been stranded for a week due to heavy snowfall. Attempts were made to extract the male via helicopter, however weather prevented access. Whistler RCMP are attending by snowmobile to provided assistance.
